Zane Fiala
Zane Fiala recently graduated from San Francisco State University with a Master’s degree in choral conducting, where he studied under the direction of Dr. Joshua Habermann. Zane is a California native, but before settling in San Francisco, he was somewhat of a nomadic soul. He traveled around the world as a trumpet player, and then attended the highly esteemed music and recording arts program at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo. At the end of a two-year life in Chicago, Zane received his Bachelor of Art’s degree in vocal jazz from Columbia College Chicago. Once back in the Bay Area, Zane was successful in founding the first San Francisco State University Men’s Chorus, and gained valuable experience in all facets of conducting, including orchestral, choral, and operatic. Zane is also quite passionate about food and wine, and is currently the dining manager and assistant wine director at Incanto, a top-rated Italian restaurant in Noe Valley. Zane joined IOCSF in the fall of 2007, is now sharing conducting duties with Jeremy Faust and Paul Kim, and looks forward to a long, prosperous, and musically uplifting future with this extremely talented group of singers.
