IOCSF announces a new music publishing partnership with Santa Barbara Music Publishing and an inaugural Composer Competition
We are thrilled to announce that In March 2011, The International Orange Chorale of San Francisco inaugurated a new choral music publication series with Santa Barbara Music Publishing. Edited by Artistic Director Zane Fiala and Founding Director Jeremy Samuel Faust, the partnership was established in order to:
- Promote the creation of new choral music, primarily unaccompanied.
- Promote the publication of works by young/emerging composers and eventually established composers.
- Promote choral music that is both practical and engaging for choral ensembles as well as their audiences.
- Encourage our own ensemble to create, seek out, perform, and promote new music.
In 2011, IOCSF will inaugurate a composer competition aimed at identifying new works for our series. Winning works will be performed and recorded live (two performances minimum) and a cash prize will also be awarded. Winning works will be automatically considered for our SBMP publishing series. Travel expenses for winning composers may also be considered. More information will follow during May and June 2011.
Interested composers can sign up for updates/announcements by contacting info@iocsf.org and putting "IOCSF composer competition" in the subject line.
